Phil Davison stump speech Sept. 9, 2010
Well hot damn, now THAT is some serious passion! In case you missed this stump speech disguised as a nervous breakdown/intervention take a little peek – Republican, Democrat, Independent, or psychotherapist, you gotta love this level of commitment.
Well said Sir!
I don’t post this to make a political statement of any kind; trust me when I say that whoever speaks like this in public is going to earn my attention and utmost fascination. As a professional spokesman I understand the value and importance of solution messaging along with the challenge in developing stickiness with your delivery. It’s mighty hard. How to make a potent impact in less than 10 minutes is a lifelong exercise that few can master. After 13 years on trade show floors and in sales meetings across America and around the world I’ve seen all types, from great to ghastly.
And now I’ve arrived. This is a speech to play and play again. Here we have not just the human mind on the edge but a priceless not-so-subtle example of what happens when you lose your way so completely and misread your audience so thoroughly that you cross over from passion into camp. File this under the heading: “What I’m Not Looking For In a Pro Narrator”
You thought Rod Blagojevich was entertaining? Feh, an amateur! Mr. Davison has given us and Stark County the gift of ultimate mumbo madness and I love him for it; just don’t ask me to spend Thanksgiving with him or put my kid on a Little League team with his.
